Tokyo – NHK’s drama Yasu: A Single Father’s Story was awarded the Golden Nymph for Best Mini Series at the 52nd Monte-Carlo Television Festival, held 8-14 June in Monaco.
The drama, set in 1960 Hiroshima, featured a heartwarming story of a strong relationship between father (Yasu) and son (Akira) after Akira’s mother died when she sacrificed her life to save the boy from a pile of heavy falling boxes.
