New York – A+E Networks has announced the promotion of Sean Cohan to Executive Vice President, International. The announcement was made by Abbe Raven, President and CEO, A+E Networks and Steve Ronson, Executive Vice President, Enterprises, to whom Cohan will continue to report.
Cohan oversees the International Division of A+E Networks, managing the company’s brands, content, and services outside the U.S., and a staff based in New York, London and Singapore. The division’s activities include branded channels, content sales and digital media distribution. A+E Networks operates 54 branded international pay-TV channels and distributes its content across a range of platforms.
“Sean has played an integral role in the growth of A+E Networks around the world. His leadership and vision has helped catapult our brands into global powerhouses now in more than 150 countries and 37 languages,” said Raven.
In February, the A+E Networks International group launched A&E in Australia – the first launch for the brand outside the western hemisphere. The team also debuted HISTORY India in October to 50 million subscribers, a channel which has become the leading factual entertainment channel in that market.
