Seoul – Life Inspired (Li) will be airing its third and new original production, EdVentures in Asia, starting on May 27, 9pm SIN/HK. This 13-episode series, which will star Korean celebrity chef Edward Kwon, is being co-produced with Korea’s CREO Contents, Arirang TV and CJ Media, the channel’s first foray in producing with Korean-based partners.
EdVentures in Asia will see Chef Edward Kwon embarking on a culinary adventure across Asia for one purpose: to create new dishes by infusing Korean elements into authentic Asian cuisine. He will hit locales from the well-known to those off the beaten path and points in between, and will then use what he’s seen and learnt to experiment with age-old recipes and add his personal touch to popular local dishes.
EdVentures in Asia will visit and feature Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Jeonju, Korea; Nha Trang, Vietnam; Osaka, Japan; Hong Kong; Macau; Ulan Bator, Mongolia; Beijing, China; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Bangkok, Thailand; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Delhi in India.
Chef Edward Kwon is the former hotel head chef of the Burj al-Arab Hotel in Dubai. Singer Barbra Streisand once offered him a job as her personal chef, while former US president George W. Bush went into the kitchen to personally shake his hand. Currently, Chef Kwon serves as Seoul’s global goodwill ambassador, as well as Korea’s tourism ambassador.
