CNN reaches more viewers globally than any other international news channel, reinforcing the network’s undisputed leadership position, according to the latest findings from both the Synovate Pan Asia Pacific Cross Media survey (PAX) and European Media and Marketing Survey (EMS).
The latest PAX findings for 2011 showed that CNN continues to be the leader among international news and business channels across all metrics in the Asia-Pacific region. It also highlighted CNN’s ability to reach business leaders and travelers in the Asia Pacific region as well as its leadership in digital platforms.
CNN reaches at least 50 percent more viewers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as compared to the next placed channel, BBC World News. It reaches almost as many viewers in a single week as BBC World does in a month. Adding on, CNN.com/CNNMoney.com reaches 51 percent more users online than BBC.com, and more than twice as many Top Management each month.
In Europe, CNN achieved a record score in the latest EMS 2012 research with 18 million viewers – said to be the best ever score for any news network in monthly reach. Overall, CNN is also the number one multi-platform news provider in Europe, with 47 percent monthly combined reach across TV, mobile, and online.
Tony Maddox, Executive Vice President of CNN International, said: “What we are seeing is that there continues to be a strong appetite for global news. People want a depth of analysis and a genuine breadth of coverage.”
