Singapore – Resorts World Sentosa, Universal Parks & Resorts and Sesame Workshop have announced that Sesame Street will be developed into the latest family-oriented theme park in Universal Studios Singapore (USS). The park will comprise a Sesame Street themed ride, special shows and character breakfast programme. USS will be coming up with new Sesame Street shows to coincide with the June holidays. A special rise-and-shine breakfast programme will also debut in the third quarter before the theme park opens.
Park guests can go on an adventure with Elmo in a new indoor ride, which will be launched within ‘New York’, one of the seven theme zones within USS. There will also be Sesame Street performances at the steps of the New York library, featuring a 12-minute stage show “When I Grow Up” by the Sesame Street characters. The other two street shows that will be shown include Oscar’s “Our Favourite Things” and “Dance with Bert and Ernie”.
“Universal Studios Singapore is about bringing fun and excitement to the entire family. With its portfolio of loveable characters such as Big Bird, Elmo, and Cookie Monster, whom many generations have grown up with, Sesame Street has captured the attention of the Asian audience for decades, and continues to be enjoyed by children globally,” said Dennis Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Attractions, Resorts World Sentosa.
