Stockholm and Munich – Accedo, an enabler of Smart TV and IPTV applications, and maxdome, Germany’s leading video-on-demand (VOD) provider, are collaborating to develop next generation SmartTV apps for multiple platforms.

The first official app being developed, the Panasonic VieraConnect application, gives viewers access to a vast catalogue of 45,000 video titles, including films, series, comedy shows, documentaries, music, and children’s programmes. The app is now available on 2012 Panasonic Viera TVs.

Accedo and maxdome are also working to develop and launch this year VOD apps for other platforms.
