London – The BBC is launching an international search for the new role of Chief Business Correspondent to be based in East Asia, as part of a major drive to expand the breadth and depth of its international business coverage.
Richard Porter, Director of News Content, BBC World News, tells TV ASIA Plus that the incoming correspondent has to be a credible journalist with a good track record of business reporting and one who is also capable of presenting on broadcast TV.
While their prime focus will be reporting for international outlets such as BBC World News, BBC World Service and BBC.com, the successful candidate will also bring major stories and reports to UK audiences across the BBC’s flagship UK news services. They will report across all platforms – TV, radio and online.
