Australian digital film production company Flickchicks’ documentary The 100+ Club, is a finalist in the Competition Program category at the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival 2011 (GZDOC). The 26-minute documentary, which was commissioned by Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and aired on ABC 1 last month, follows the lives and exploits of three endearing centenarians: Ruth, Olive and Dexter, who are 100, 102 and 100 years old respectively. The GZDOC provides an international platform for the project. In fact, producer Margie Brown told TV ASIA Plus earlier this year, “We’re keen in cutting a longer version of the doco for the overseas markets and for DVD”.
