London/ Beijing – Vision IPTV today has signed a multi-year agreement with China Central Television (CCTV) to distribute three of the Chinese network’s channels to UK audiences via its latest broadband connected FreeviewHD televisions and set top boxes. CCTV will have a dedicated channel number on the FreeviewHD electronic programme guide (EPG). Visitors to this channel will be able to access content via a simple on-screen user interface. Vision IPTV is a specialist provider of live broadcast over the internet and has the capability to extend internet-based viewing experiences onto connected FreeviewHD devices. This enables international broadcasters such as CCTV to reach overseas viewers. No specific channels were mentioned for the launch, however CCTV aims to add more such content to the FreeviewHD lineup throughout 2012.
