Singapore – BBC Worldwide and BBC Global News today announced a partnership with Flipboard outside of the UK, making the BBC one of the first international news broadcasters to offer a magazine-like experience of its Twitter feed on Flipboard, the social media magazine for iPad. The free Flipboard app pulls links from the @BBCWorld Twitter feed and lays them out like magazine articles, allowing users to access the BBC’s international news services in an easily navigable and attractive format for iPad. This new distribution channel for web content will reach thousands of readers and offers an exciting new format for people around the world to access trustworthy impartial news. The BBC international news section has a specially designed paginated print-like layout, which is automatically populated from the web content that is tweeted from @BBCWorld Twitter account. Flipboard intelligently recognizes headlines, images, byline, captions, pull quotes, video and other elements and flows them into the template.
