Cannes, France – LI TV INTERNATIONAL announced its latest original series production with Ochre Pictures, with the support of the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore. A first for Life Inspired and MDA, this collaboration will result in Li, Life Inspired’s second original production, a no-holds-barred molecular gastronomy adventure across Asia, called The Maverick Chef. Set to begin shooting later this month, this programme will feature the self-taught Michelin-starred chef Alvin Leung, who is known for his ‘X-treme Chinese’ cuisine in Hong Kong. Fondly known as ‘The Demon Chef’, Leung specializes in the art of food deconstruction and reinvention. The six-part series and will see Leung travelling across Asia, visiting one distinct Asian city in each episode. He will be tasked with deconstructing the most popular local dishes in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok and Taipei – after which he will create his own versions of each country’s national cuisine.
