Singapore – CNBC has launched an Asia Pacific edition of CNBC.com. The new site includes more specific content, features, analysis and global stories tailored for Asian investors. It also provides more original content generated in the region and analysis from local and global experts through blogs. John Casey, Vice President of International News and Programming, CNBC, said the site, “Is an extension of our on-air strategy of delivering local content. This launch enables CNBC to better serve its audience by delivering the most comprehensive and compelling online experience to our users whenever and wherever possible.” He said the site also ties in strategically with the CNBC channel, “Our aim is always to provide our audiences with the most complete and essential business news coverage, therefore CNBC.com and CNBC TV work together seamlessly to create a compelling, multi-dimensional experience. “A recent example would be our coverage of the disaster in Japan, when our Tokyo bureau chief, Kaori Enjoji, was blogging gripping first-hand accounts from the disaster zone, while also providing live reports and news stories for television,” Casey added. The CNBC.com team has its own studio and acts as a digital bureau, tapping into the digital space for breaking news, strengthening CNBC’s television coverage.
