Co-located with IP&TV World Forum Asia 2011, Broadband World Forum Asia 2011 will focus on how the industry can profit from investment into high speed broadband to enable social and economic growth and will feature a comprehensive speaker programme debating the hot topics across Asia and the wider global broadband industry. Gavin Whitechurch, director of the Broadband World Forum series, is looking forward to kicking off the debates. “There are huge opportunities for the broadband industry across the Asia-Pacific region and it is the subject of continued discussion by operators and service providers. “Some countries, such as India, are embracing the possibility of a National Broadband Network and are investing significant amounts of money in FTTH projects. There are other countries, like Bangladesh which are embracing the mobile broadband market as there is a widespread lack of fixed internet access. The options are varied and are all helping to improve the way people communicate and do business across the globe.” Broadband World Forum Asia, the largest broadband event in the Asia-Pacific region will be held on 10 and 11 May at the KL Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
