Singapore – SPE Networks – Asia has acquired and adapted the reality game show Minute to Win It for India. The series was produced for AXN by NBCU International in partnership with Malaysian satellite provider, Astro, at NBCU’s production hub in Kuala Lumpur. The show premiered 12 January. Based on the award-winning game show format from US television network NBC, AXN India’s Minute to Win It offers contestants the chance to win prize money of up to 1 crore (10 million) Rupees (approx. US$220,000) through a series of physical challenges. The minute-long challenges involve regular household items and can range from balancing balls while blindfolded, to knocking over cans with a yoyo tied to the waist. Upon the completion of each challenge, contestants accumulate the cash prize for that level and advance to the next level of greater difficulty. Contestants who cannot finish a challenge in time are eliminated and will bring home only the guaranteed prize money accumulated up to the designated safe points from previous rounds. AXN India’s Minute to Win It drew 11,550 registrants in November last year. The series is hosted by Indian actor and VJ Gaurav Kapoor.
