Hong Kong – Celestial Pictures announced a carriage deal with Indonesian satellite pay-TV operator PT. Cipta Skynindo (Skynindo) for two of Celestial’s pay-TV channels. From this month, Skynindo will add Celestial Movies (CM) and Celestial Classic Movies (CCM) to their basic package. This deal represents Celestial Classic Movies’ first carriage in Indonesia and its fourth territory in Asia after Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam. CCM is a 24-hour movie channel screening Chinese cinematic gems, primarily from the vast and diverse Shaw Brothers Film Library. Viewers of CCM will be treated to Kung Fu classics such as One-Armed Swordsman, The Five Deadly Venoms and The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. Beyond Kung Fu and martial arts, CCM will also feature classics of other genres including drama, action, Huangmei opera, horror and musicals. For Celestial Movies, Skynindo represents the third platform to carry the channel in Indonesia alongside Indovision and Telkomvision. CM showcases the latest Chinese blockbusters as well as other Asian movie hits. With its exclusive output deals with major Hong Kong film studios, CM offers Indonesian TV viewers the premieres of event films such as Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen and Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame, as well as the second and third highest-grossing movies in China of all time, Aftershock and Let the Bullets Fly.
