Hong Kong – National Geographic Channel (NGC) launched an exhibition to support the November premiere of its seven-part Great Migrations documentary series. The interactive Great Migrations exhibition took place at Harbour City last week, seeking to entertain and educate visitors about the impact of climate change and human activity, such as deforestation, water damming and pollution, on the migratory patterns of animals across all continents through state of the art audio visual zones and stunning surround sound, and a range of entertaining and educational activities. Visitors enjoyed the photo-taking and printing station, educational videos, games and origami workshops all designed to bring important conservation issues to life. One of the important local issues NGC seeks to promote is the migration of Hong Kong waterbirds and they teamed up with the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society, Hong Kong Wetland Park and WWF-Hong Kong to provide educational sessions on conservation around the Mai Po Nature Reserve to coincide with the exhibition, where a vast number of migratory waterbirds depend on the ecosystem.
