Cannes – Turner Content Solutions Asia Pacific announced the sale of more than 100 hours of its actuality genre truTV programming, in a syndication deal with leading Korean cable channel KMH. The 100 hours of content sold to KMH will feature a host of popular series including World’s Wildest Vacation Videos, Smoking Gun Presents, Body of Evidence and Speeders, all top-rating shows internationally and highly anticipated in the Korean market. The truTV content deal comes hot on the heels of the launch of the truTV Asia channel, which premiered earlier this year in Singapore and is now also available in Indonesia, Maldives, Vietnam and the Philippines. Also, available at MIPCOM for the first time is the full library of Korean lifestyle and entertainment programs from QTV – Turner’s joint venture channel in Korea. The library includes an array of the country’s highest rating entertainment shows such as Yes, Chef!; After Love; I’m Real, Shin Sae-Kyung; and Women Who Rank, covering universally favoured topics such as love, cooking, gossip and travel, presented in often unique formats for which Korean television is renowned. These programs, along with the brand new HD series from Turner’s Japanese channels, Tabi and MondoTV, highlight the diversity of original content the company offers from across the region. Available from Tabi, Japan’s 24-hour travel and lifestyle channel, is programming that celebrates amazing journeys, capturing the essence, beauty and wonder of the travel experience. Content highlights include Kyoto’s Heart, European Luxury Journeys and Treasure Islands. From MondoTV, the high-octane entertainment channel aimed at a male audience, comes the MONDO:ism branded documentaries, featuring some of Japan’s quirkiest subject matters, from sports, cars, games, leisure and everything in between.
