Endemol announced a long-term partnership with Ensemble Entertainment, a new privately financed TV company to co-produce and distribute internationally event-television drama series and mini-series. Ensemble was founded by Tony To (co-executive producer & director on Harsh Realm; Earth 2, From the Earth to the Moon, Band of Brothers; and The Pacific), Patrick Murray and Jin Ishimoto. In keeping with their track record, Ensemble will be developing and producing high-end, quality drama series, and mini-series. The creative focus will be on universal themes that will entertain a global audience, creating lasting brand value for its broadcast partners. The deal was brokered by Endemol Group’s Philippe Maigret and Ensemble’s Patrick Murray. Endemol Worldwide Distribution will retain distribution rights outside of the USA with Endemol Worldwide Brands extending the projects across multiple entertainment platforms.
