Hong Kong – Tiger Gate Entertainment has announced two new additions to its team, Alexis Kwong Alvarez as vice president of sales and marketing and Sorel Roget as senior manager of sales and marketing. Both will be based in the company’s Hong Kong headquarters with Alvarez reporting to William Pfeiffer, CEO, Tiger Gate Entertainment. As vice president of sales and marketing, Alvarez will oversee all sales, distribution and marketing operations for Tiger Gate, specifically for its two new pay television channels KIX and Thrill, available across Asia. Alvarez has over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, including nine years in strategic marketing and business development at Sony Music Asia. He was pivotal in the set up of Sony Music’s digital music strategies in the region in the late 90s. He then transitioned to the TV business as director of music, talent and artist relations at NewsCorp’s STAR Group Ltd and eventually headed Channel [V]’s headquarters in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Tiger Gate, he was the program director at Next TV in Taiwan, working closely with NEXTmedia’s founder Jimmy Lai to develop variety and entertainment and variety shows for the new channels. Prior to joining Tiger Gate, Roget was director of revenue management at W Hong Kong. She graduated with an MBA from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and brings strong strategic management and sales and marketing experience from more than 10 years in the hotel industry into the role. Work experience with 14 countries and her extensive travel throughout Asia Pacific while in the Starwood Hotels and Resorts Divisional Office garners her with an insight and knowledge of the region imperative for KIX and Thrill, which are tailor-made for Asian audiences.
