Hong Kong – TVB general manager Stephen Chan is reportedly pending further instructions from the TV station, months after he was arrested along with four others by Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) for alleged corruption. At a meeting with the media before the start of a evangelistic meeting in Hong Kong, Chan was questioned by reporters if the recent resignation of variety department executive producer Wilson Chin Kwok-wai had anything to do with the ICAC investigations. Not wanting to comment on the matter, Chan told reporters he does not have full details of Chin’s resignation, as he has just returned from a trip to Israel. Asked by reporters if he is still an employee of TVB, Chan stressed that as long as TVB thinks it’s suitable, he can return to work at any time, adding that unlike Chin, he will not tender his resignation. Chan, 50, was taken into custody along with Chin; TVB’s head of business development Wilson Chan Wing-suen; actor Ning Jin; and the director of an advertising firm on March 11. They were suspected of corruption involving HK$10 million (US$1.3 million). Chan has not been charged and is currently out on bail.
