South Korea – Mobile operator LG Telecom has changed its corporate identity to LG U+. The company said that the letter U stands for ‘ubiquitous technology’, and the plus sign represents the added value the company seeks to offer its customers. LG Telecom in January absorbed its subsidiaries LG Dacom and LG Powercom. The new entity then adopted ‘Combined LG Telecom’ as its temporary identity. LG U+ was selected from some 800 candidates. The company will officially adopt the name in July after a shareholders meeting and a declaration of its new vision.
