Doha, Qatar – Al Jazeera Children’s Channel was announced winner of the golden award for best medium length film for its production Baghdad’s Angel at the closing ceremony of Al Jazeera 6th International Documentary Film Festival on 22 April 2010. The 52 minute documentary for Director Rasheed Mashharawi portrays the torn life of children in Iraq through Hawraa, a 10-year-old girl who walks the streets begging support for her family. In the film, Hawraa sets the example of today’s miserable life of hardship of Iraqi children in a country plagued with conflicts.
