Cannes – The first ever original commission for the international CBeebies channel, Penelope K, by the way, is set to debut on April 26 in Australia. Penelope K, by the way marks BBC Worldwide Channels’ first international commission for the pre-school channel. Following its launch in Australia, the show will broadcast in the UK and across EMEA, Asia and Latin America throughout 2010. David Weiland, BBC Worldwide’s SVP Programming and TV Channels said, “This new show marks BBC Worldwide Channels’ first shift away from 100 per cent acquired programming for the international CBeebies channels and I’m delighted that our first global production has such fantastic pedigree. It’s the first step in an exciting new journey for our channels.”
