Nonthaburi, Thailand – THAICOM Public Company Limited, Asia’s leading commercial satellite operator and the operator of the IPSTAR satellite broadband system, reported its revenues from sale of goods and rendering of services for 2009 ended December 31 was Baht 7.19 billion, an increase of Baht 175 million compared to 2008. Revenues from IPSTAR bandwidth service, telephone businesses, and internet and media businesses, grew 29.7%, 11.4%, and 6.4%, respectively. Revenues from the transponder leasing service and related services of Thaicom 1A, 2 and 5 satellites was reported to be Baht 2.34 billion; an increase of Baht 32 million or 1.6% from total of Baht 2.30 billion in 2008. This growth was mainly due to the continued demand for satellite television. Revenues from IPSTAR satellite bandwidth increased Baht 271 million or 29.7% due to the growth of services in Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, China, Cambodia, and Malaysia. In addition, the Company’s strategy was to place more emphasis on the IPSTAR bandwidth service rather than User Terminal sales. Revenues from telephone businesses in Cambodia (Mfone Co., Ltd.) and Laos (Lao Telecommunications Co., Ltd.) were Baht 2.147 billion; or an increase of Baht 220 million from 2008. As of the end of 2009, the total number of mobile subscribers for both markets reached 2,217,094, or an increase of 17.6% from the previous year. Revenues from internet access and media businesses were Baht 535 million. At the end of 2009, total sales of DTV dish sets in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos were 592,886 units, an increase of 246,274 units from 2008. Lao Telecommunications Co., Ltd. announced to pay a dividend of US$ 30 million for its 2009 performance. In addition, CS LOXINFO Plc. also announced to pay a dividend for 2009 of Baht 0.41 per share, in which CSL has already paid an interim dividend of 0.14 per share to its shareholders.
