Singapore – MediaCorp announced the appointment of Leo Goh as managing director of Singapore Media Academy (SMA) with immediate effect. Goh started his career in human resources and spent 13 years honing his HR skills before joining MediaCorp in 2004 as vice president group human resources. He was promoted to senior vice president the following year and, in 2007, was appointed MediaCorp’s chief representative in China, based in Beijing. He returned to base last August where he took up the position of chief operating officer, SMA. Mdm Chua Foo Yong, Goh’s predecessor, will take on a new role in SMA as its vice chairman. As the first managing director of SMA, Chua was instrumental in having SMA certified as a Continuing Training and Education (CET) centre by the Singapore Work Development Agency, and was the driving force behind the Academy’s move to its current premises at Clarke Quay, providing state-of-the-art training and equipment for course participants.
