London – Endemol announced the appointment of Steve Copestake as global head of marketing. Copestake joins Endemol from Disney-ABC-ESPN Television where he was senior vice president, international marketing. During his seven years at Disney he has led the marketing and research operation for the company’s TV distribution business, representing their most successful global brands including Lost, Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy. Copestake also played a central role in the international roll-out of Disney Channel’s live action franchises including worldwide hits such as High School Musical and Hannah Montana. During his 25 year career he has also been head of marketing communications at BSkyB and a board director at leading European marketing agency, The Added Value Company. As global head of marketing at Endemol Group, Copestake will manage all Endemol’s marketing activities, focusing on global entertainment formats and also working closely with Endemol Worldwide Distribution on finished programming. His remit will include providing comprehensive post sales marketing support for Endemol’s clients around the world. He will also be responsible for Endemol’s corporate branding as well as the Group’s internal and business to consumer online presence. Copestake takes up his new role on 29 March 2010 and will report to Endemol’s chief commercial officer Tom Toumazis. He will also work closely with Endemol Worldwide Distribution’s CEO Cathy Payne.
