Kuala Lumpur – Zenith Media Malaysia is forecasting a 10% growth in the country’s advertising expenditure this year. The Star Online reports that chief executive officer Gerald Miranda said Malaysia, which saw advertising expenditure grow 7.4% last year, would benefit from the global economic recovery, and added in a statement that although the government had forecast an economic growth of 2% to 3% this year, he believed actual growth would surprise on the upside. Malaysian advertisers spent RM6.6bil last year. Newspapers managed to arrest advertising expenditure’s decline with a 3% increase, according to Zenith Media. Spending on TV grew 13%, radio 24%, outdoor 17%, point of sale 16%, and internet 22%, said the report.
