Singapore – StarHub announced the launch of an enhanced mobile TV application on major smartphone platforms such as Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile in partnership with several handset vendors, including Acer, HTC, LG, Motorola, RIM, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. It will be made available on other platforms – iPhone and Nokia Symbian – by the first quarter of this year to cater to the growing number of smartphone users in Singapore. StarHub’s new mobile TV client provides users with easy-to-use features and settings for the access of StarHub TV channels on mobile devices. The main features include Integrated TV Guide, On-screen controls and Unique TV browser. StarHub also announced the launch of four more premium cable TV channels on StarHub TV on Mobile. 3G mobile post-paid customers can now receive TVBJ, TVBS News, The History Channel and E! Entertainment via any 3G handset. With the added channels, there will be a line-up of 24 premium TV channels offering comprehensive news coverage and a wide selection of entertainment content to mobile customers. Customers can sample the four new channels for free now till 31 March 2010. The mobile TV service is available for an affordable daily rate of S$1 for unlimited 24-hour access to all channels. There will be no additional charges incurred for mobile data access.
