France Telecom’s Orange has formed a partnership with BesTV, new media unit of Shanghai Media Group, to provide multimedia broadcast services. Under the agreement, the telco will be authorised to broadcast content from the 2010 Shanghai World Expo across its European pay-TV services. BesTV is the exclusive new media partner for this year’s Expo, which expects to attract 70 million visitors. China is the first developing country to host the event, which will showcase the cultural, economic, social, technological and artistic achievements by some 240 nations, territories and international organizations. The six-month Expo will run from May 1 to October 31.
