Indonesia – In order to give the industry greater legal certainty, Indonesia’s Ministry of Communications and Information has issued new regulations governing the provision of IPTV services. According to the new regulations, IPTV providers must be consortia formed of at least two Indonesian legal entities which have obtained the required licences, allowing an entity to act as a local fixed-line provider, a multimedia services provider and a paid broadcasting provider. Furthermore, a legal entity that is already a member of a consortium may not join another consortium. Additionally, foreign ownership of shares in the consortium is permitted under the new stipulations, according to the relevant laws and regulations.
