Singapore – HBO makes its mark as the first regional movie channel to broadcast in HD in Asia. HBO is now available in HD to subscribers in Singapore and the Philippines, and in Hong Kong from 6 October, with more countries across the region following soon after. Available at no additional cost to all StarHub TV subscribers of The HBO PAK in Singapore and nowTV subscribers of The HBOMAX PAK Premium in Hong Kong, and sold as part of the Cignal HD pack in the Philippines on Cignal, viewers have the option of enjoying HBO’s commercial-free line-up of the latest and biggest Hollywood blockbusters and award-winning HBO Original programs and series in HD. “HBO is proud to be the first regional movie channel to broadcast in high definition in Asia,” says Jonathan Spink, CEO of HBO Asia. “With HBO in high definition, subscribers can now enjoy a complete cinematic experience – watching the latest Hollywood blockbusters and award-winning HBO Original programs and series with better clarity, sharper pictures in wide-screen format and superior sound enhancement from the comfort of their own home.” HBO in high definition will be programmed and packaged in English out of Singapore together with closed-captioned subtitling. HBO will be available in HD on StarHub TV Ch 602 in Singapore, Cignal Ch 50 in the Philippines and on nowTV channel 110 in Hong Kong.
