Hong Kong – Eurosport, the 24-hour sports events television channel announced its debut on Indonesian direct broadcast satellite pay television platform, AORA. Part of the basic package, Eurosport is available to all subscribers of AORA on channel 501. The launch will give sports fans access to a wide range of live sporting events, including the newly acquired Tour de France cycling tour. Other upcoming key live programs include the women’s tennis Sony-Ericsson WTA Tour, Tour of Spain cycling major, World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), Le Mans 24 Hours, Porsche Supercup, major world Marathons, finals of the Heineken Cup, French Top 14 and Guinness Premiership rugby leagues. As part of the channel’s expansion plan in the region, Eurosport and Eurosportnews, the 24-hour sports news channel, has launched in more than 10 countries including Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.
