Kuala Lumpur – Media Prima Berhad (MPB) announced that Abdul Rahman Ahmad will be ending his tenure as the group managing director/CEO in August 2009. Dato Amrin Awaluddin, the current CEO of TV3 has been appointed as the new chief operating officer, MPB and the designated successor to Abdul Rahman. Amrin will relinquish the position of CEO, TV3. The purview of TV3 will now directly come under Dato Sri Farid Ridzuan, the Group CEO of Television Networks and MPB International. Abdul Rahman has been with the group since 2001, initially as the executive director, TV3 (as part of his role as the CEO, MRCB, which was then the holding company of TV3) before assuming his current post at MPB upon the completion of the comprehensive debt and corporate restructuring of MRCB, TV3 and the New Straits Times (NSTP) Group in 2003.
