Hong Kong – Peter Jackson, CEO of AsiaSat will be inducted into The Society of Satellite Professionals International (SSPI)’s Satellite Hall of Fame at an induction ceremony on 25 March 2009. SSPI is the professional development society of the global satellite industry. The Hall of Fame was introduced in 1987 to recognise the contributions of the visionaries and pioneers who have made possible the age of satellite communications. It honours individuals who have devoted their careers to the advancement of technology and to helping build the political and commercial foundations of the industry. Jackson joined AsiaSat as CEO in 1993, following his years with Cable & Wireless in a broad range of engineering, marketing and management positions. In 2006, Jackson was presented the APSCC’s ‘Satellite Executive of the Year in Asia Pacific’ Award and the ‘CASBAA Chairman’s Award’ in recognition of his continued dedication to the satellite and television community. The ceremony on March 25 will be held immediately before the start of the annual SSPI Gala that will bring together some 1300 decision makers from the satellite industry in Washington, D.C.
