Petaling Jaya – A five member team from Media Prima Berhad (MPB) was on a four day official visit to Pakistan to look at developing ties in the media industry with Malaysia. Led by its chairman, Dato Abdul Mutalib Razak, the team explored the possibility of cooperation with Islamabad Media University and held discussions with public sector media houses such as Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC), Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), Associate Press of Pakistan (APP), Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and representatives of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA). The team also looked into the supply and exchange of dramas and programmes on cooking, tourism, fashion and sports. “Both Pakistan and Malaysia have produced content which have tremendous cross-cultural appeal and there is a lot of potential for it to be shared around the world, while the exchange of current affairs and news programmes will allow a much better understanding of each other,” said Abdul Mutalib.
