New Delhi – India’s largest private telecom firm Bharti Airtel is set to start IPTV services in the country. Besides Airtel, other telecom operators like MTNL, RCom and HFCL have already started IPTV services in various parts of India. Airtel has already tested IPTV services through its soft launch in some of the cities, sources said, adding this would cater to a different set of customers from DTH users. The company has close to three million broadband and fixed line subscribers and would be looking to cater to these customers as well as new users, who are looking for three services together from a single operator. Sources declined to comment on the detailed plans (including pricing), saying the company would announce all details in the near future.
