BBC Worldwide has confirmed a three year deal with Eurosport for the annual World Professional Darts Championship. The British pastime will now be available to new audiences not only across Europe but also Asia until 2011. The competition kicked off in Lakeside on January 3 for nine days of heated competition. Eurosport will show 20 hours of the competition on both its European and pan-Asian channels. Eurosport will broadcast the championship across Europe, excluding the UK and Ireland, and across Asia, excluding Japan and China. Eurosport has broadcast coverage of the event for the past three years on its pan-European channel.
