Singapore/Hong Kong – MTV Networks International has successfully sealed deals with local broadcasters of various regions in the Asia and the Pacific. Country Music Channel (XYZ) in Australia will launch various programs starting December 2008 where viewers can tune in through pay TV. Featured shows will include CMT: Ty Murray’s Bull Riding Challenge; Gone Country, Crossroads: Crossroads: Babyface and Tricia Yearwood, Crossroads: Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Scaggs, Crossroads: Lindsay Buckingham and Little Big Town, Crossroads: Joss Stone and Leann Rimes, Crossroads: Maroon 5 and Sarah Evans, Crossroads: Pat Benetar and Martina McBride, Crossroads: Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson, Crossroads: Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Crossroads: Steve Earle and Rosanna Cash, Crossroads: ZZ Top and Brooks & Dunn. Australia Comedy Channel (Foxtel) has a head start in airing shows from MTV Networks since July 2008 through pay TV featuring Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report Global Edition, The Daily Show Global Edition, South Park Season 1-3 & 9 RENEWAL, The Man Show Season 1-4 RENEWAL, Lewis Blacks: Root of All Evil, and MTV’s Fur TV. In New Zealand Prime TV has offered Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers & Lil Bush and CMT Cowboy U since September 2008 available to viewers free of charge. New Zealand broadcaster TVNZ has also provided free content, airing MTV’s Laguna Beach since August 2008. South Korea’s FOX Network has featured hit MTV shows such as Punk’d, Room 401, Final Fu since September 2008 though pay TV platform. In addition, On Style will offer MTV’s My Super Sweet 16 and Tila Tequila starting in January 2009. Philippines broadcaster Balls & Velvet (CPI) offers Comedy Central’s South Park 1-12, Lewis Blacks: Root of All Evil; CMT: I Want To Look Like A High School Cheerleader Again starting January 2010 through pay TV. HBO Networks will cover Pan-Asia territory through pay TV starting December 2008 featuring Comedy Central’s Reno 911.
