Mumbai – Rohinton Maloo, the managing director of Cutting Edge Media and Indian sales rep for euronews, was among those gunned down by terrorists at the Trident Hotel. A well-known face on the Indian media scene, message of condolence for his family and tributes to Maloo have been abundant. According to Anil Wanvari, “Maloo was instrumental in the South Asian launch of Asian Business News (now called CNBC), CNN & Cartoon Network & HBO for Turner/Time Warner Inc. This apart, he also helped in the launch of the Star Network in India doing ad sales for their channels as a concessionaire. In 2000, he launched Hallmark business unit’s card in India. To add to his achievements, in 2002 he acquired Cutting Edge Media Pvt Ltd. from Zee Telefilms Ltd and re-launched Zee English and Zee MGM marketing sales for Zee Telefilms Ltd, and also ZeeNews.com.
