Globo TV International has recently closed a deal for five years with the channel Telenovela, a Korean broadcaster from the EPG group that will go to air in January 2009, with a timetable filled with productions from the Organizações Globo. The programming of the new channel will be broadcast to the whole country with Korean subtitles and will be available for diverse platforms (VOD Internet, satellite transmission and cable). “This agreement with Telenovela is extremely important for us to continue growing among the Asian countries that are looking more and more for diverse formats and genres,” said Raphael Corrêa, director of international sales department at Globo TV International. The aim of the new Korean broadcaster is to achieve 10 million subscribers by the end of 2011. “Our channel will show a deeper view of Brazilian culture to all of Korea and will make the population admire Brazil even more, and especially Globo TV International productions,” said the CEO of Telenovela, Jo-Hwang Suh.
