FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) announced sales in excess of 1500 hours of programming in the Asian region over the past two months. The shows sold are representative of a cross-section of programming spanning each genre in FME’s portfolio: drama, comedy, factual, entertainment and music and pop culture. Many of them made their debut at MIPCOM, and have proved their appeal with 12 clients in the Asian region. In a deal totalling more than 200 hours, True TV in Thailand bolstered its 2009 schedule with a huge injection of FME shows. It beefed up its factual offering with three shows launched by FME at MIPCOM from Original Productions: America’s Toughest Jobs, 1,000 ways to Die and Verminators, each one distinctly male-orientated for those who prefer reality TV with a harder edge. The channel also picked up further factual shows in the form of Ghost Adventurers and Extreme from FME’s Travel Channel portfolio. Upping the channel’s music and pop culture content, True TV has opted for @radicalmedia produced Britney: For the Record and Iconic Ironic America along with the annual music awards show The BRIT Awards 2009. Finally, the broadcaster brought some of FME’s comedy to its viewers including new launch Clone, IT Crowd season three and Comedy Inc season three, as well as universally adored returning series, America’s Got Talent season three, Project Runway season five, She’s Got the Look season two and The Martha Stewart Show season four. Solar in the Philippines were keen to buy into FME’s dramas including the fast-moving crime series set on Australia’s Gold Coast, The Strip. It was also taken in by the revealing documentary Britney: For the Record and further FME MIPCOM launches such as America’s Toughest Jobs and satirical comedy Reality Bites Back. America’s Got Talent season three, Project Runway season five and The Price is Right complete the channel’s entertainment crowd pleasers. MediaCorp in Singapore and Media Prima in Malaysia took FME’s newest titles including America’s Toughest Jobs and Britney: For the Record, which was also snapped up by Zee India. Deals were also closed with HTV Vietnam, RTB Brunei, PTS Taiwan, ABS-CBN in the Philippines, pan Asian broadcaster Juita Viden, Trans TV Indonesia and Discovery India for a variety of unmissable new and classic FME programming.
