Sydney – Granada International Australia, part of ITV Global Entertainment Ltd, has sold a number of programming packages to Australia’s Foxtel. The deal totals more than 100 hours of programming for Foxtel’s History, Bio, Fox Classics, CI and The Comedy Channel and includes such classic films as WWII epics Battle Of The River Plate and The Eagle Has Landed, lively comedy Weekend At Bernie’s and Noel Coward’s romantic drama Brief Encounter, along with a number of documentaries including The Adventure Of English, The Celts and Tour of Duty. The Adventure Of English presents an investigation of the spread and development of the English language. The Celts gives a true picture of Celtic culture, examining every aspect of Celtic life and how they adapted to change to demonstrate that the Celtic tradition still holds strong in Europe today. Tour Of Duty uses news material, dramatic reconstructions and actual ministry of defence footage combined to tell the real story of British and American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
