Tokyo – BBC’s Tokyo sales team has concluded deals with Japanese broadcasters for unique BBC Worldwide music content, including rare archive footage. Pre-sale to NHK comprise BBC Electric Proms: Oasis (HD), which sees Oasis’ performance at the Electric Proms joined by a 50-strong choir, and performing a selection of greatest hits and new tracks. Produced for NHK, this is an extended 90 minute version of the show which they will broadcast early next year. It is the first time that NHK has broadcast HD popular music content produced by the BBC. Sale to NHK comprise Seven Ages of Rock. The documentary series explores the music that has been the soundtrack of popular culture and defined each generation since the 60s. Featuring The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, U2, The Smiths and Oasis. NHK is planning to air the programme early next year. Sale to Fuji TV comprise Coldplay Then & Now which gives viewers the chance to see the evolution of one of the biggest bands in the world. This is the first programme that BBC Worldwide has ever licensed to entertainment channel Fuji TV 721 and high-definition network Fuji TV CSHD and the programme is scheduled to air on Christmas Day 2008 at 22:00.
