Tokyo – In an effort to further expand its international program sales activities, TV TOKYO Corporation (TV TOKYO) of Japan have concluded an agreement with Sparks Network AB, a format distributor based in Stockholm, Sweden. The deal will see TV TOKYO license the worldwide rights to one of the network’s most popular shows National Family Challenge. National Family Challenge airs at 7pm each Tuesday on TV TOKYO, and is one of the network’s most popular shows in which families watching can participate. Under the terms of the deal, TV TOKYO will license to Sparks Network the format of Hide and Seek, the most popular segment of the show whereby the presenters of the show visit the homes of the contestants and try to find the contestants hiding in their homes. “TV TOKYO has a strong record of distributing anime internationally, but we have recently put more emphasis on distributing entertainment programs, sales of which have doubled in the last year. We are confident that this format deal with Sparks Network would be the first step in growing our international format sales business”, says Soichiro Hashi, general manager of TV TOKYO’s content business division.
