Season four of boxing reality series The Contender is currently in production with the assistance of Singapore Tourism Board’s Film In Singapore! Scheme. This is the first time that the 12-episode series is being filmed outside of the United States. The show is being hosted by former boxer, actor Tony Danza. Produced by Mark Burnett Productions and Dreamworks Television, the fourth season of The Contender will premiere in the US in December 2008. AXN will air the show in Asia, dtae still to be announced. The filming of the series in Singapore will be coordinated by Mark Burnett Productions Asia (MBPA), a joint venture between Mark Burnett Productions with leisure and hospitality group Genting International. Show is not to be confused with The Contender Asia, co-produced by Imagine Omnimedia, which centred around the sport of Muay Thai. Mark Burnett, president and founder of Mark Burnett Productions and Board Member of Mark Burnett Productions Asia said that discussions were still underway regarding a second season of The Contender Asia.
