Singapore – Fox International Channels has unveiled programming for the newly revamped FX channel. Formerly more male-skewed, the October 23-launched line-up contains 80 percent new content, including a number of first-runs for the region. Billed as ‘Edgier, Bolder, Sexier’, the new line-up includes David Duchovny in Californication, Emmy-award winning Mad Men and The Riches – starring Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard. Other shows include Family Guy, Saving Grace and Peep Show. Asked about censorship of these shows for Singapore in particular, spokesman Basil Chua said that FX has been censored according to the requirements of its PG-rated tier on StarHub Digital Cable. “We have maintained the high production values and made the necessary cuts without losing the plot.” As for the decision to revamp FX for Asia, senior vice president marketing Fox International Channels Asia Sonia Jackson said, “The decision to rebrand was very much a content-led one, the channel was a bit more male before but now there’s edgy content that guys will watch, but that women will also find appealing.”
