London – Zodiak International, the content distribution arm of Zodiak Television Group, has concluded a range of deals for its music-driven primetime entertainment format Born to be Wild, it was announced by Jorg Roth, managing director. The format, from Zodiak group company Broadcasters Oy, has attracted interest from broadcasters throughout the world, with options signed in Australia (Nine Network), Spain (Four Luck Banana), Belgium and Holland (Kanakna), Sweden (Jarowskij) and Norway (Mastiff). It was also recently honoured at Finland’s Media and Message event, winning the prestigious Format Finlandia prize which is given every year to a format created in Finland which is judged to have the most international potential. Born to be Wild follows the training of a rock and roll choir of senior citizens, all over 75 years old. The young-at-heart old timers sing to a sold-out audience by the series’ end; and all throughout their emotional journey will drive the drama and humour of the programme. The format launched in Finland earlier this year on MTV3, attracting a higher than average audience share for its primetime 8pm slot.
