BBC Worldwide sales & distribution is expanding its global research team with the appointments of Tim Savill and Gary Woolf. Savill and Woolf will join the global research team as research managers and will report to VP research, BBC Worldwide sales & distribution, Stella Creasey. They will be responsible for managing research into the performance of BBC Worldwide properties around the world and deepening analysis of trends, genres and advertising models on all content platforms. Creasey said, “We’re undergoing a significant expansion in our research capacity. Our content catalogue is one of the most valuable and varied in the world so it’s crucial that we enhance our sales and windowing strategies in all key markets as the landscape becomes increasingly fragmented and complex. Both Gary and Tim bring with them formidable experience in television research and I look forward to them expanding our research strength globally.” Savill joins BBC Worldwide in September, from his current role as senior research executive at FremantleMedia. Woolf is currently international research and development manager for Granada International and will join BBC Worldwide in October.
