Singapore – BBC Worldwide Channels has announced the promotion of Cindy Tan to regional director, Asia. Leading the channel’s TV and online advertising sales teams in Hong Kong and Singapore, Tan will be responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strategic sales initiatives for TV and digital sales across BBC World News and bbc.com in Southeast Asia and Greater China. Tan started in December 2004 as account manager, Singapore and has contributed to the growth of BBC World News’ airtime sales revenue from key clients in Singapore, Hong Kong and Greater China. Based in Singapore, Tan will continue to report to Sunita Rajan, VP, advertising sales – Asia & Australasia, Worldwide Channels Asia. “Bringing together the integrated ad sales operation of the two key regional centres is a strategic decision with a view to create significant synergy for our customers and our business across our TV and digital products. We believe the experience, skills and insight that Tan brings to both markets will contribute to our next phase of growth which will include introducing commercial opportunities for new products in the BBC’s portfolio of TV and digital assets,” said Sunita.
