Australia Network and Vietnam Television (VTV) have marked the 35th Anniversary of Australia and Vietnam relations, by announcing a new cooperation agreement covering subtitling, training and technology transfer and the development and production of children’s learning programs. The agreement was signed in Hanoi by the general director of Vietnam Television (VTV), Vu Van Hien and the chief executive of Australia Network, Bruce Dover in the presence of Australian Foreign Minister, the Honorable Stephen Smith. Dover commented, “Australia Network and VTV have had a long and fruitful partnership. As national broadcasters, both parties feel strongly about fulfilling our responsibilities to inform, educate and entertain audiences and the extension to our partnership is a great example of this.” Local audiences will now receive additional hours of subtitled programming on Australia Network. VTV will provide subtitling for three hours minimum a day on educational, children’s lifestyle, drama and documentary programming.
